We collect and use personal information solely for the purpose of providing insurance and surety services, processing quotes, underwriting bonds, fulfilling regulatory obligations, and communicating with you about your account.

  • Commercial information: business name, ownership, license numbers
  • Financial information: only as required for underwriting
  • Internet or device data: if you use our website
  • Information you voluntarily provide: on quote forms

We do not sell your personal information.

We share information only with:

  • Insurance carriers and surety underwriters
  • Technology providers supporting the quote/bond process
  • State regulatory bodies when required to file bonds (e.g., CA CSLB)

🧭 Your Privacy Choices (CCPA / CPRA, California Residents)

Current CPRA Status: At this time, we do not meet the statutory thresholds to be considered a "business" under the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA). The law generally applies to companies that:

  • Had over $25M in annual gross revenue, OR
  • Buy, sell, or share personal information of 100,000+ consumers/households annually, OR
  • Derive 50%+ of annual revenue from selling/sharing personal information

However, we provide the following information as a best practice and in anticipation of future growth. If our status changes, we will update this notice and provide formal CCPA/CPRA request methods.

Privacy Rights Under CCPA/CPRA: California residents would have the following rights if CPRA applies:

1. Right to Know

You may request information about the categories of personal information we collect, the sources of that information, the business purpose for collecting it, and the categories of third parties with whom we share it.

2. Right to Access

You may request a copy of the personal information we have collected about you.

3. Right to Correction

You may request that inaccurate personal information be corrected.

4. Right to Deletion

You may request that we delete personal information we have collected, unless retention is required for:

  • Insurance underwriting
  • Bond filing
  • Regulatory compliance
  • Fraud prevention
  • Legal obligations

5. Right to Opt-Out of Sale/Sharing

We do not sell personal information. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. Our analytics tools (Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity) are configured to limit data sharing, and we do not enable advertising features or audience remarketing.

Global Privacy Control (GPC): Where applicable, we honor browser-based opt-out preference signals such as Global Privacy Control (GPC) as a valid opt-out of sharing request.

6. Right to Non-Discrimination

We will not discriminate against you for exercising any CCPA rights.

🔍 FCRA Soft Credit Pull Notice

When you apply for a contractor bond, we may obtain a soft credit inquiry to determine eligibility and pricing.

  • This is not visible to creditors
  • It does not affect your credit score
  • It is used solely for bond underwriting purposes

By submitting the bond application, you authorize Glacier Point Insurance Services, Inc., and our underwriting partners, to obtain your credit information as allowed by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA).

🔒 Data Security Statement

We use secure, encrypted transmission for all submitted data, restrict access to authorized personnel only, and retain information only for as long as required by insurance and regulatory obligations.

We implement industry-standard administrative, technical, and physical safeguards including:

  • SSL/TLS encryption for data in transit
  • Secure cloud infrastructure with access controls
  • Regular security audits and monitoring
  • Employee training on data privacy and security
  • Vendor agreements requiring data protection

🏛️ Insurance Privacy (IIPPA & GLBA)

As a licensed California insurance broker, we comply with two insurance-specific privacy frameworks that apply regardless of company size:

  • California Insurance Information and Privacy Protection Act (IIPPA) — Cal. Ins. Code §791 et seq.
  • Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA) — 15 U.S.C. §6801 et seq., and its Safeguards Rule

Information Practices (per IIPPA §791.04)

  • Sources: directly from you, insurance applications, consumer reporting agencies (for bond applications), and insurance-support organizations.
  • Use: solely to underwrite, place, service, administer, and renew insurance and surety products, and to comply with legal and regulatory obligations.
  • Disclosure: we do not disclose nonpublic personal information to non-affiliated third parties except as permitted by law — including insurance carriers, reinsurers, surety underwriters, state regulators (e.g., CA CSLB), law enforcement, and fraud prevention databases.
  • Access and correction: you may access and request correction of your recorded information by contacting [email protected]. We will respond within 30 business days per §791.08.

GLBA Safeguards

We maintain administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect the security and confidentiality of your nonpublic personal information, consistent with the GLBA Safeguards Rule. This notice serves as our initial and annual privacy notice under GLBA Regulation P.

📱 SMS / Text Message Program

If you opt in to SMS communications via a checkbox on our quote forms, the following terms apply:

  • Content: informational messages about your quote, application, policy, or service updates. We do not send marketing or promotional texts.
  • Frequency: varies based on account activity.
  • Rates: message and data rates may apply. Your mobile carrier is not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
  • Opt-out: reply STOP at any time to unsubscribe. Reply HELP for assistance.
  • TCPA consent: by opting in, you consent under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (47 U.S.C. §227) to receive calls and texts at the number provided, including from automated systems, for the purposes described above. Consent is not a condition of purchase.

Data Retention

We retain personal information only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected and to meet legal, accounting, or regulatory obligations. Typical retention periods:

  • Quote requests (no policy issued): up to 3 years
  • Bound policies and bonds: for the term of the policy plus 5–7 years, consistent with California insurance record-retention rules
  • Regulatory filings (e.g., CSLB bond filings): as required by the applicable agency
  • Website analytics (aggregated): up to 26 months (Google Analytics default)

Breach Notification

In the event of a security incident involving unauthorized access to unencrypted personal information, we will notify affected California residents as required under Cal. Civ. Code §1798.82. Notice will be made in the most expedient time possible and without unreasonable delay.

Minors

Our services are directed to businesses and their owners. We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under 16. If you believe a minor has submitted information through this site, please contact [email protected] and we will delete it.

Cookies, Analytics & Error Monitoring

We use the following services to improve the site:

  • Google Analytics / Tag Manager: to understand aggregate usage and improve content
  • Microsoft Clarity: to view anonymized session recordings and heatmaps to improve user experience
  • Sentry: to monitor and fix website errors (collects technical error data only)
